Govt. unveils REVE developed Alapon app for employees


Bangladesh government on Monday launched a secure mobile app developed by REVE Systems for inter-connectivity among government officials. The app, named Alapon, with features of chat, online calls, video calls, group messaging, file sharing and location sharing, is available for free download in respective play store.

Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina launched the App at Secretariat in the capital. Premier at that time also had a conversation with Deputy Commissioner (DC) of Barishal using Alapon ahead of the launching.

Cabinet secretary Mohammad Shafiul Alam in this regard said that Alapon app is more reliable and secure than any other this type of medium apart from there is no fee or charge to use this.

“The initiative was taken as part of its aim of developing Bangladesh as a technology-based modern digital country,” he added. “The overall activities of government officials have increased many times and the Alapon has been developed to make their activities dependable and faster.”

REVE Systems’ CEO Ajmat Iqbal informing the new app has already been unveiled in the IOS and Google Play Store, said that all the government officials could download it using their NID number and mobile number they provided during the pay fixation.

“The government officials now can talk to each other and hold group discussions (chat and group chats) and group conference, make conversation and video conversations (voice and video call), send messages and exchange official files alongside know their locations with the app” he added. “All kinds of communications will be easier as mobile number of any specific official could be collected after going to ‘advanced search’ option of the app. Besides, all security systems have been incorporated in the app so that none can hinder the security of the intercommunication medium of the government officials easily.”

According to the CEO of REVE Systems the app is unique as it’ll require less bandwidth, charge and space. The government money will also be saved as there’s no need for additional charge, except the internet cost, triggering a revolutionary change in intercommunication by government officials.
