Empowering women & children, renowned Bangladeshi multinational software company REVE Systems has developed an online application to protect violence against them. Bangladesh government on Wednesday launched the App at Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) auditorium in the capital.
The App, titled ‘Managing Violence against Women and Children’ has been designed to report any misdeed happening with women or children over computer or any other smart devices direct from home as well as helping law enforcers and local administration to take necessary steps to protect. Both the victims & concerns, moreover can monitor activities real time after complains.
The App has been developed following requirements of National ICT infra-network for Bangladesh government Phase-II (Info-Sarker), a project undertaken by Bangladesh Computer Council (BCC) beneath the ministry of Information, Communication and Technology.
State Minister for Women and Children Affairs, Meher Afroze Chumki inaugurating the App said, “The newly developed application will help enough when it is difficult to seek necessary help at the time of an incident.”
“If such a situation arises, now a woman or a child can ask for help more easily and quickly,” she added. “Therefore, they would also can track what measures are being taken against the complaint.”
REVE Systems’ CEO Ajmat Iqbal handing over the App to the government authority said that Magistrates, DCs, TNOs, OCs and District and Upazila women affairs officials will have access to the app logging in www.vawcms.gov.bd address.
“This will help law enforcers and at the same time administrative officials to rescue women and children facing violence as well as to track steps being taken,” he added.
State Minister for Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Zunaid Ahmed Palak addressing the program as Chair said that the ‘Managing Violence against Women and Children’ App is to ensure the equal rights of men and women in the country as stipulated in the constitution.
Secretary of Women and Children Affairs Nasima Begum and Secretary of ICT Division Shyam Shundar Sikder also attended the program.
